Dr. King’s quote that hangs inside the Cradle to Crayons warehouse in Boston is a reminder that greatness is not exclusive. Each person has the potential to achieve greatness with what they have to offer and to contribute through service.
This morning several of our MCG Partners team and some of our children 7-12 years old (we all have something to give!) volunteered at Cradles to Crayons, Boston (www.cradlestocrayons.org). The mission of Cradles to Crayons is to provide children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. They supply these items free of charge by engaging and connecting with communities that need. In Massachusetts alone, more than 305,000 children, 12 years old and younger, live in low-income or poverty-stricken households. In any given year, more than 100,000 of them will experience homelessness.
Giving back as a team is something we have taken on as part of our culture and what we expect of each other. It is a core value at MCG. We are proud that each and every one of our employees believes that we can add value to the communities where we live and work and that together, making a positive impact on our community.
