Kelly Walters Kennedy is a career coach and consultant with MCG Partners, a consultancy specializing in leadership and talent optimization. Kelly specializes in coaching, consulting, and advising professionals and organizations on aligning workforces with business strategy after mergers, acquisitions and restructurings; transitioning employees for increased speed to competency or improved productivity; and outplacement and career transition planning and implementation.

Previously, Kelly worked as an outplacement consultant at Right Management Inc. and served as the Director of Development for DBM, Inc., where she partnered with organizations to identify key business challenges and ways to support senior management in achieving superior business and individual leadership performance. She briefly worked in the non-profit sector for the American Red Cross.

With years of experience in higher education, Kelly is currently the Associate Director of Student Development and Outreach, Career Education Instructor, and Coach at the University of Connecticut School of Business in Storrs, Connecticut. Previously held positions in college admissions and alumni relations at the University of Hartford, University of Maine, Fitchburg State College, Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) and at Providence College, where she was Assistant Dean of Admission. Tasked with increasing interest from young women in non-traditional math and sciences careers through MMA, Kelly was credited with still in place retention programming and tripling female enrollment.

Kelly has an undergraduate degree from Merrimack College and graduated with honors with a Master’s Degree in organizational behavior from the Barney School of Business, University of Hartford. Kelly is certified in the Predictive Index® (PI®), Strong, and MBTI assessments.  Kelly has served as an advisory Board member of the Connecticut Forum for over 5 years, she is a 20 year Rotarian with the West Hartford Rotary, National Undergraduate Business Symposium Career Group, Merrimack College Alumni Association, and over 10 years with the Connecticut Women’s Council. Since 2012, she’s served as the College Relations Chair on SHRM’s state council. In 2009, she received the Rotary International’s Paul Harris Award for extraordinary community service and was honored as the 2006 Hartford Business Journal’s 40 under 40.

Kelly lives with her husband Bobby in West Hartford.
